Terms of service
Last updated October 6, 2026.
Business Runs Better ("I", "me") is an AI consulting and development business run by Mike Cavallo in Leland, North Carolina. These terms cover use of businessrunsbetter.com and services bought from Business Runs Better. Larger projects also get a written proposal; if that proposal and these terms disagree, the proposal wins.
Using this website
The information on this site is general and provided as is. Examples of what automation can do, and any estimates of time or money saved, are illustrations, not promises for your business. Don't misuse the site, for example by trying to break its security or sending spam through the contact form.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by me.
Time Audit
- The Time Audit costs $500, paid upfront. It includes a 90-minute session (video call or in person) and a written plan delivered within 3 business days of the session.
- If you buy a build within 60 days of receiving your plan, the full $500 is credited toward it.
- Refunds: full refund if you cancel before the session takes place. Once the session has happened, the audit is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, just ask; there's no fee.
Builds
- Every build has a written scope and a fixed price, agreed before work starts.
- Payment is 50% to start and 50% when the system is live and your team has been trained, unless the proposal says otherwise. Invoices are due within 14 days.
- Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted separately before any extra work happens.
- Each build includes 30 days of fixes after handoff for anything that doesn't work as agreed.
- Refunds: if you cancel a build before it's finished, you pay for the work completed to that point and any unused part of the deposit is refunded.
Run & Improve
- Billed monthly in advance to your card through Stripe.
- Cancel anytime by email. Service continues to the end of the month you've paid for; partial months aren't refunded.
Ownership
Once paid in full, you own the work built specifically for your business, including configurations, automations and custom code. Third-party tools and services (for example your CRM, phone provider or AI provider) stay under their own terms and are billed to you directly. I may reuse general know-how and non-confidential building blocks in other projects.
Third-party services
Builds often connect to services I don't control. I'm not responsible for their outages, price changes or policy changes, but I'll help you work around them.
Confidentiality
I keep your business information confidential and use it only to do the work. I won't name you as a client or describe your project publicly without your permission.
Liability
I do careful work and test it, but AI and automation can make mistakes, so important outputs (quotes, messages to customers, financial figures) should be reviewed by a person until you trust them. To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Results
I estimate time savings as carefully as I can, but results depend on your team, your tools and how the system is used, so I can't guarantee a specific number of hours or dollars saved.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. If we have a disagreement, we'll first try to sort it out directly and in good faith. If that doesn't work, it will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Brunswick County, North Carolina.
Changes
I may update these terms. The version posted here, with its date, is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a project already under a signed proposal.
